Watch it

My Nooka watch finally died. Never liked that watch any way. Around two years ago I thought it was cool of them to create a different way to tell time but really, there should never be a learning curve to tell time. I can't tell you how many people complimented that watch and how many times I had to explain how to tell the time. Even I had trouble with it. You'll never read the time as fast as a simple digital display. Screw you Nooka and your pretentious way of telling time. And I just had to get the white color. Now its worn with shades of grays, greens, yellows, and all kinds of grossness. A piece of the band also broke off and the display is scratched up. I'll admit I was pretty rough with it since its my daily beater... but still! It shouldn't fall apart after less than two years. They market their watch as "premiums" but its low quality materials. Don't buy it unless you want to look cool and waste more time figuring out what time it is. Not worth the $130 retail price. What features does it have?

- silly way of telling time
- low quality polyurethane band
- weak EL light
- form and NO function

And that's all! No extra features (stop watch, timer, alarm). Looking "cool" and unusual are the only things going for it.

- - - - -

My new replacement... the Casio G-Shock G-5600E-1DR! Based on the model that started it all in 1983...

This is the ultimate super practical watch! Why?? Oh I can't even contain myself! For the features that matter:

- it's shock resistant construction (duh!)
- bright EL light w/ auto light (hands free time in the dark!)
- super easy to read display
- scratch resistant mineral glass
- durable resin material
- power saving mode (turns off the display after 60-70 minutes of inactivity and darkness)
- it's solar powered w/ power monitor!
- the features I don't use (stop watch, timer, world time, alarm)

Its an excellent combination of form and function! It retails for $110. Google shopping's lowest price is $66. What a steal! Even if you lose it its easy to replace. If you're reading this and need a new watch or just want one, go get one and/or for a friend. You'll love it and they will too. It totally kicks Nooka's ass.

My aunt gave me my first G-Shock in 8th grade. My dumbass lost it. I don't know why I never got another one. I think I was just afraid to lose it again. I also had calculator watch but the band broke. Now I have a G-Shock again and I'm going to take really good care of it. I love G-Shocks. I love the design and how it's so over the top shock-proof with almost every detail thought out, so Japanese! Its like a watch you'd see in an anime that secretly transforms you into a super hero.

When I had my first G-Shock, I felt like no one else had it because they were so "ugly" and big, but I loved it. Only a few people had them and I thought they were cool hahaha. I remember this one girl had a baby blue Baby-G with a nylon strap--good taste I thought. We traded watches for a day a few times. I wonder what she's doing now.

Okay time to end this nerdy post about watches....

BTW check this hi-liter pink! Its like Krang jumped into Tron and turned into a watch!
